It’s a new week, and that means it’s time to add some new books to your TBR! Despite the number of unread books on shelves, it doesn’t stop us from buying more. It has been a GREAT week for YA releases, so without further ado, feast your eyes on (and treat yourself to) these fresh and exciting reads.
1. Only Mostly Devastated by Sophie Gonzales

Only Mostly Devastated tells the story of Ollie, who had the best summer of his life with Will Tavares. He thought he had found The One, but then summer ends and Will stops texting him back. To make matters worse, Ollie ends up moving across the country due to a family emergency, and now he has to attend a new school. This turns out to be a good thing, when he learns Will attends this school. Unfortunately, Will isn’t the same Will he spent the summer with. He’s the big jock on campus, and also a big jerk. Now, Ollie doesn’t have any interest in pursuing a relationship with Will, but Will keeps finding a way into his life. In music class and even at the lunch table, Will keeps showing up, but Ollie knows he can’t trust him and won’t ever pursue a relationship with him again. The last time Ollie tried, Will stamped all over his heart, but Ollie finds himself caving again. He would be a fool to trust him again… wouldn’t he?
2. Anna K: A Love Story by Jenny Lee

Anna K tells the story of Anna K, who spends her days with her horses and her dogs. She has a boyfriend, Alexander, who may be boring, but dating him makes her father proud. Her siblings are the ones with the exciting love lives. Her brother Steven and his girlfriend are dealing with a sexting scandal, and her younger sister Kimmie, recovering from an injury that could put her ice skating career in jeopardy, has Steven’s best friend, Dustin, pining after her. While everyone else is dealing with relationship pitfalls, Anna has been able to rise above it all, that is until she meets Alexia, or the Count. Alexia is the total opposite of Anna, he has bounced around from boarding to boarding school. Neither one of them have been in love but they just might be falling in love with each other. Now, Anna must decide how much of her life she is willing to let go of to be with him. When a secret is revealed that could shatter their relationship, and Anna begins to question if she’s ever really known herself at all.
3. We Are Totally Normal by Rahul Kanakia

We Are Totally Normal follows Nandan, and how he plans to make his junior year of high school perfect. He intends on going to all the parties, getting back with his ex, and getting Dave, his best friend, into the popular crowd. Nandan believes he has cracked the code of High school, until he and Dave hook up one night after a party. This derails all of Nandan’s plans, because he’s never been into guys, but he is willing to give it a shot for Dave, regardless if everyone will see him differently. Dave adjusts to their relationship easily, while Nandan struggles with the anxiety of it all and how his new sexuality changes his social life. He wants to take it all back, but is breaking up with Dave the right move? Dave is the only person that’s ever gotten him, and is it okay to give up that up because he doesn’t feel “normal”?
4. Frozen Beauty by Lexa Hillyer

Frozen Beauty tells the story of the Malloy sisters, and how one of them is keeping a secret that will turn their world upside down. Kit went into the woods, and the only thing they know for certain about that night revolves around icy blue lips, a lacy bra, an abandoned pick up truck with keys still in the ignition, and fingers cold to the touch. Everyone thinks Boyd, Kit’s boyfriend, is the one that killed Kit, but Tessa doesn’t believe that to be true. The details don’t add up and there are still a lot of secrets that have yet to be revealed. Tessa dives deep into the mystery surrounding her sister’s death, but at the center of the murder is a heartbreaking simple truth.
5. Look by Zan Romanoff

Look follows Lulu, and how her 10,000 followers saw things that weren’t meant for the world to see. The video of her and another girl wasn’t supposed to be posted, and her boyfriend wasn’t supposed to break up with her over it. Now everything behind the scenes of her ‘Flash’ persona feels like a big mess. Then Lulu meets Cass, and Cass isn’t interested in her ‘Flash’ life. He just wants to live in a hotel with an old Hollywood history to it, and he needs a trust fund kid to help him restore it. It’s also the perfect place for the two of them to get to know each other in secret. Although, even though Lulu has stepped away from ‘Flash’, it doesn’t mean people will stop following her every move.
